About Guadalupe Infante Torrentera
Guadalupe Infante is Marisol Esparza and Pedro Torrentera’s daughter. Guadalupe grew up in a low-income family in California. Infante worked at a community center for older adults while in college, where she occasionally sang. Infante was motivated to continue playing traditional Mexican music by her grandfather and father. Infante was a top contender at La Voz in 2017.
Infante performed at the Mariachi USA Festival in June 2018. She collaborated with Peermusic in 2018 after publishing a cover of “Flor Sin Retoo.” Guadalupe Infante also recorded music videos in her garden during the COVID-19 global epidemic in California. Through her songs, Infante promotes female empowerment.
Her music debut album, La Serenata, was launched in 2019 and was nominated for a Grammys for Best Regional Mexican Music Album. Her song, Dejare, was also shortlisted for a Latin Grammy Award.
Guadalupe Infante’s Father-Pedro Torrentera
Pedro Infante is and has always been Mexico’s icon. Pedro, born in Sinaloa on November 18, 1917, was a Mexican singer and actor whose career encompassed the golden era of Mexican cinematography. His fame grew throughout Latin America. He was the third of fifteen siblings, nine of whom lived.
Pedro showed musical aptitude and enthusiasm as a teenager, even creating his guitar and forming his band, “La Rabia”, in 1933. Infante appeared in at least sixty movies and produced over three hundred songs between 1939 and his demise. He subsequently won the Silver Bear for Best Actor for his role in the movie Tizoc.
Almost all his movies were substantial box successes and are still televised daily. Some of his notable works include:

Maria Luisa, his wife, died of a heart attack on October 27, 1978. He met dancer Lupita Bablot while being wedded to Maria. He had three children: Garciela Margarita, Guadalupe Torrentera, and Pedro Infante Jr. Irma Infante is the daughter of his marriage to actress Irma Dorantes.
On April 15, 1957, he perished in Mérida when his airplane crashed due to an engine breakdown while traveling to Mexico City.
