Nancy Dolman, Oliver’s late mother, was an actress, vocalist, and owner of Reflections of Ambrosine, an antique clothes business. Nancy earned a philosophy degree from the University of Western Ontario. Dolman, who was born in Canada in September 1951, began her acting career at a young age. Years before she was featured in the comedy “Soap,” she appeared in a Canadian Rock stage performance. Dolman made appearances in various plays until 1985 when she announced her retirement from the stage.
Nancy and Martin began dating soon after, and they married on December 22, 1980. Short and Dolman adopted their first child together 3 years after they hitched. Katherine is the name of the couple’s adopted daughter, and their boys, Oliver and Henry, were adopted as well. The couple was blissfully married till her demise in 2010.
