Oliver Patrick Short, born on April 29, 1986, is the adopted son of Martin Short and Nancy Dolman. Patrick’s zodiac sign is Taurus. Patrick has two siblings: Katherine Elizabeth and Henry. His eldest uncle died in a road accident, and both of his grandparents died of illnesses within 2 years of each other.

During 1970, Martin was in a relationship with celebrity Gilda Radner. In 1972, Martin began a relationship with actress Nancy Dolman, and the couple married in 1980. Dolman retired from her acting career in 1985 to be a housewife and raised their three adopted children. Nancy died in 2010 from ovarian cancer. Since he had a personal experience dealing with cancer, Short became an active supporter of the Women’s Research Cancer Fund.

Nancy Dolman, Oliver’s late mother, was an actress, vocalist, and owner of Reflections of Ambrosine, an antique clothes business. Nancy earned a philosophy degree from the University of Western Ontario. Dolman, who was born in Canada in September 1951, began her acting career at a young age. Years before she was featured in the comedy “Soap,” she appeared in a Canadian Rock stage performance. Dolman made appearances in various plays until 1985 when she announced her retirement from the stage.

Nancy and Martin began dating soon after, and they married on December 22, 1980. Short and Dolman adopted their first child together 3 years after they hitched. Katherine is the name of the couple’s adopted daughter, and their boys, Oliver and Henry, were adopted as well. The couple was blissfully married till her demise in 2010.
