In the late 1990s, she worked as a writer for various magazines, including BET Weekend, Emerge and Essence.

Her Former Partner, Eric Adams
After college, Eric Adams started working as a police officer in the New York Police Department, where he served for over 20 years. He joined the police to serve to change how the police treat civilians, having encountered abuse in his youth. During his police career, Chrisena’s former partner worked in different capacities, from escorting convicts and working with organizations to bring police reforms.

Eric Adam’s Political Career
Chrisena Coleman’s former partner started his active involvement in politics in the 1990s; he wanted to become the mayor of New York City. He supported the incumbent in the 1993 mayoral election, but given his comments against David Dinkins’ opponent, David lost the election.
From 2006 to 2013, Eric Adams was New York State’s Senator but faced a lot of opposition for most of his later years and left to become the president of Brooklyn Borough. In 2020 Chrisena’s former partner announced his candidature for the mayor position in New York. He won the election against Republican Curtis Sliwa.
